Massage and Energy therapy

  • Aromatherapy has been used as a healing practice for thousands of years. The treatment consists of a full body massage, with most emphasis on the areas that require primary attention, using essential oils and acupressure points as well as meridian work, as best suit the patient’s condition.

Essential oils have many different properties; calming, uplifting, relaxing or stimulating. In aromatherapy these oils are blended specifically to suit your needs at the time. Used in gentle massage, this sensuous therapy is for those who wish to indulge and pamper themselves, occasionally or on a regular basis!

  • Bowen Technique is a light and gentle technique developed by Thomas Ambrose Bowen of Geelong, Australia. It is a therapy treating a person’s whole body and it helps to relieve back and neck pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and some other musculoskeletal problems, migraines, arthritis, asthma and hay fever, etc.

The treatment can be carried out through light clothing or directly on the skin. The therapist uses thumbs and fingers to give ‘rolling-type’ moves over specific muscles, tendons and ligaments. The client is left alone in the room for a few minutes between sets of moves. The moves trigger the electrical impulses in the nerve endings, sending information to the brain and let it sort out the problems and the few minute breaks give his/her body a chance to rest and time to re-balance and begins the self-healing process.

It is suitable for people of all ages. Generally, 3 treatments, once a week are sufficient to see the improvements and achieve long-lasting effects. It is not recommended to receive any other physical therapies in order to obtain the optimal benefits.

  • Massage is a complementary and holistic therapy that benefits the whole body, both physiologically and psychologically. It uses the powerful medium of touch to facilitate healing and connection with all aspects of the self. It is beneficial for all body systems and is a safe, non-invasive way to promote relaxation and to stimulate the body's own innate healing mechanisms.

"The skin is one of the richest sources of immune cells and when stimulated with a massage it produces a shower of healing chemicals into the blood stream".

There are many types of massage techniques to attend different needs.

  • Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms. While the art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China, it was developed during the 20th century as doctors observed that reflex areas on the feet were linked to other areas and organs of the body, and that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.

Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. By massaging different points on the feet the reflexologist can stimulate the body's own healing mechanisms and redress the balance of organs and bodily functions that are not working as they should. An added benefit is that it is deeply relaxing. After completing a course of reflexology treatment for a specific condition, many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to maintain health and well-being. It is suitable for all ages.

  • Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive form of energy healing where the Reiki Master uses gentle touch to guide universal life force through the clients body to reduce stress and promote healing.

  • Introduced to the west from Japan in the seventies, shiatsu is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and works on the same principles as acupuncture, but uses finger pressure rather than needles. The recipient remains fully dressed, in loose comfortable clothing, and can be treated lying down or sitting up. The shiatsu practitioner uses fingers, knees, feet and various stretches to manipulate points along the meridian energy system in the body which relate to the internal body organs and systems. Shiatsu releases tension and encourages a free and balanced flow of 'ki', or energy. Like acupuncture, shiatsu can help a great range of disorders, including menstrual and digestive problems.

  • Tuna is a form of Chinese acupressure therapy. By working along the energy channels in the body, stretching and applying pressure it helps rehabilitation and healing.
