Homeopathy is based on the principle that 'like is cured by like'; an illness which produces certain symptoms can be cured by a substance which produces the same symptoms by stimulating the body's own healing mechanism. The approach is to find a remedy which matches the individual's whole symptom picture in detail, but also takes account of general aspects of the person's health, such as the weather and temperature they do best in, their diet and life style, stresses that might contribute to ill health, and family history - to look at inherited tendency to illness.

Remedies are derived from plant, animal or mineral sources and are prescribed in tiny concentrated doses as pills or drops. The therapy is suitable for all ages, including babies, and pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Homeopathy can be use in the treatment of chronic and acute conditions, including:

• alergies, such as hay fever, and other allergies
• skin conditions
• depression
• arthritis
• chronic fatigue syndrome
• PMT and other menstral disorders, including problems resulting from menopause
• digestive disorders
• coughs, colds and 'flu.

Lesley Murphy qualified as a Licentiate at the College of Homeopathy in London in 1988. She works at Bodywise on alternate Tuesday evenings, and charges £60 for the first appointment (90 mins) and follow-up appointments are £45 (45 mins). For children, students and OAPs, she charges £45 the first appointment and £40 for follow-ups. The cost of remedies is included. Concessions can be negotiated.

Grazia Gatti qualified as a Licentiate at the London College of Classical Homeopathy in 1999 and is registered with the Society of Homeopaths. She works at Bodywise on alternate Monday evenings, and charges £60 for the first appointment (90 mins) and follow-up appointments are £45 (45 mins). For children under 11, she charges £45 for first appointment and £40 for follow-ups. The cost of remedies is included. Concessions are available.

Tracy Karkut-Law is originally from the West Midlands and has lived in London for more than 25 years. Her first career was in primary teaching. Tracy moved to Tower Hamlets with her husband over twelve years ago; it is where both of her children were born and they love the diversity and community in the east end and feel that they have put down roots here.

Her passion for homeopathy began when she was a young teacher suffering from recurring bouts of respiratory infections. After her first homeopathic prescription, she was astonished and delighted to find that her sinuses cleared rapidly without the usual recourse to antibiotics. Since completing her training at the Centre for Homeopathic Education, she keeps up to date with her professional development, attending seminars on a wide range of topics every year.

Tracy treats men, women and children, for everything from recurring coughs and colds to acne, eczema and hay-fever, through to PMS and other hormonal imbalances, using homeopathy and herbs. Clients discover the benefits of homeopathy in a wider sense as they regain energy and a sense of balance in their lives.

Tracy loves her work and takes a warm, supportive and practical approach enjoying getting to know her clients and working with them over time to improve their health and vitality, offering them a real alternative to, or support for their conventional treatment.

When Tracy is not busy with her homeopathy practice, She likes to spend time with family and friends, work on her allotment, and keep fit through dance, yoga and cycling. She is also involved in with her local cycling group, Tower Hamlets Wheelers, and the East End WI.

Tracy works at Bodywise on every Thursday evening and alternate Saturday mornings. She can also arrange appointments a other times, upon request.She charges £60 for a first appointment (£50 for children) and £45 for followups (£40 for children). She also offers a low cost standing order payment at £35 after the first appointment.
