Bowen Technique

Bowen Technique is a light and gentle technique developed by Thomas Ambrose Bowen of Geelong, Australia. It is a therapy treating a person’s whole body and it helps to relieve back and neck pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and some other musculoskeletal problems, migraines, arthritis, asthma and hay fever, etc.

The treatment can be carried out through light clothing or directly on the skin. The therapist uses thumbs and fingers to give ‘rolling-type’ moves over specific muscles, tendons and ligaments. The client is left alone in the room for a few minutes between sets of moves. The moves trigger the electrical impulses in the nerve endings, sending information to the brain and let it sort out the problems and the few minute breaks give his/her body a chance to rest and time to re-balance and begins the self-healing process.

It is suitable for people of all ages. Generally, 3 treatments, once a week are sufficient to see the improvements and achieve long-lasting effects. It is not recommended to receive any other physical therapies in order to obtain the optimal benefits.
