Acupuncture
Maggie Bavington is our acupuncturist.
Health, Vitality and Balance
Traditional acupuncture works to help maintain your body's equilibrium. Very fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of vital energy (known as qi in Chinese). Qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, leading to pain and illness. Traditional acupuncture aims to restore health, harmony and vitality by addressing the imbalances that underlie your symptoms.
Can acupuncture help me?
Please contact Maggie if you have a particular problem that you would like to discuss, such as back pain, migraine, infertility, insomnia, anxiety or any other condition. Rather than using the same treatment for everyone with a particular condition or illness, traditional acupuncture takes into consideration your individual experience of illness, and your health as a whole, mental and emotional. Many people use regular acupuncture treatments as preventative medicine to keep in the best possible health.
You are welcome to ring Maggie with any questions 07802 954 490 or to book a free 15 min appointment to discuss how acupuncture could help. Please phone Bodywise to make an appointment.

After experiencing acupuncture herself, Maggie chose to train as an acupuncturist at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, and has been practising for 14 years. After several years she became interested in working with Qi in a more hands-on way, and in 2004 qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner after a 3 year training at the British School of Shiatsu-Do. She has can also prescribe Chinese herbal medicine formulas that are customised to the individual. Chinese herbal medicine can be a useful complement to acupuncture, enabling you to continue treatment on a daily basis. In addition to these primary qualifications, Maggie has pursued postgraduate training in a wide variety of areas, in particular her special interest, infertility and pregnancy. Maggie is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and the Acupuncture Fertility Network. Maggie works at Bodywise on Thursday evening. She charges £60 for the first appointment, which lasts one hour, and £47 for follow-up appointments, lasting 45 mins.
